New York Fried Chicks
First let me say that I am all about everyone's right to free speech and blah blah blah. Say what you want as long as you understand that not everyone is going to like what you say. Including myself. I personally despise them. I don't want 'em to get hurt or anything but I just don't care for them. And it seems...Hagalie Maines is at it again. Tuesday night at their New York venue, the Chicks entered the stage amid Hail To The Chief playing in the back ground. She also gave a shout out to Mel Gibson and jokingly said, "If only I'd been drunk and checked my self into rehab then all of our troubles would be over." Having been affected personally by someone fighting addiction, I don't find it funny to joke about someone entering rehab. Also, I find it distasteful that the Chicks are so vocal about the war but have no problem selling army hats and dog tags with their names on it.

But I do find consolation in the fact that Natalie's hair looks like CRAP in this photo. It looks like a tornado touched down on her bangs.

That's one tall ponytail. I think it adds 6 inches to her height!

I always felt kind of sorry for the other two. The lead singer has always seemed really butchy and bitchy to me but the other two always looked tame and like they wish they had picked a different lead singer.

This is why I don't like Natalie Maines. She makes sure to whine and cry about how horribly she's been treated, but then she continues to say and do stupid sh*t.

I used to LOVE the Chicks. I used to buy all their CD's. Never will I buy their crap again. I was almost willing to forgive them. The Hagalie acts up again.

Fool me once and all that...

Where do I start since your entry addressed both the Dixie Chicks and Mel Gibson.

Mel Gibson is a terrorist. He has put us Jews in a lose-lose situation because of the non-Jews who were perfectly fine with his anti-semetic remarks - coming at a time when Israel is defending itself from rockets being lofted into their country hundreds a day.

We don't have bomb shelters in the US, thank God! No seque into the Dixie Chicks except to say that they should NOT have had their lives threatened because of their political view. (OK, David, calm down.)

Note to Natalie Maines...

Nobody likes a crybaby. We know how "devastated" you were after the fallout of several years ago when you chose to shoot your mouth off in front of a foreign audience on the eve of war. You made sure we knew how badly you had been treated and all the "death threats" you received. Oooh...then you made sure we knew how ignorant "we" were because the three of you posed nude on the cover of "Entertainment Weekly" with all the mean names you'd been called written on your bodies. Okay...we got it.

Now here you are again. The train to "Martyrdom" has left the station. And I must say it is very unattractive. It's just not enough for you to just play your music and entertain your fans is it? Nope. Ya gotta keep up this martyrdom thing because it seems to work well in generating publicity which perhaps equates in higher album and concert ticket sales? Whatever. I just know that hard as I try I cannot block out your snide, mean-spirited comments while I listen to your music. I just can't separate the two. So, you reap what you sow. Go ahead and blab your opinions all you want. For me personally, it's just hard for me to listen to the music and not think about how distasteful this whole "Poor-Me" act is. I know you would like to portray your "ex-fans" as nutjobs and hicks (it certainly makes for more melodrama and good sound bites for interviews) but the truth is we are mostly just hard-working people that have a choice on where to spend our money. And I choose to NOT spend it on you or your music. I'm proudly exercising my rights as an American...just as you have done.

Mr. D- Not defending Mel-boy since you have a point BUT, I believe the comments when he was drunk a few weeks back were the only comments he has ever made that were anti-semetic. He HAS in the past been credited with comments that were not HIS but rather his fathers but to my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong) has always publically at least said opposite opinions. If you refering to "the movie" in general I can not comment as I was too pregnant and was bawling in the first five minutes and had to leave BUT from the people I have talked to it was based on the bible accounts and was NOT anti-semetic in the sense of they are to blame just that it followed the story of the New Testament. Calling someone a terrorist though does not help either side. Unfortunatly we all say and do things we later go "oh shit, no I did not!" Does that make what he said right? HELL NO!

As far as fanactics go I have to say any religion has them. I personally know someone who is a converted Jew (his Jewish wife and I grew up together and is one of my most favorite people in the intire world), raised methodist but NOW he HATES Christians- dead serious I am not allowed in their home, nor is his own PARENTS, his FIL (who is non-particular despite his wifes strong Jewish background- she is of course)or any of her/his non-jewish friends. The man moved his pregnant wife and children to Isreal last year, with no job prospect, no hope of getting one and no indorsement for one- even the Rabi's in Isreal think he is a nut- they keep having to move synagogs because they will not allow him to become one himself- not that he can hold a job anyway he has been fired from more jobs then you can shake a stick at. You should HEAR the crap that comes out of that mans mouth, he puts Mel Gibson to shame- the difference of course is that Mel is in the public eye (Don't tell Chris this as we like to let him think he is a rockstar and matters so we can laugh at his stupidity)! Anyway... the whole point of that was that unfortunatly we all can claim a few in our own religions no matter what they are (I only used dumbass for the point as he truely is the stupidest person I know), unfortunatly I have to claim Melly-boy in mine and I am sorry for that. Most Catholics do not share his opinion in any shape or form- besides he is a non-reformed Catholic tech not even apart of the church! LMAO

Mr. Davie...I understand your resentment toward Mel Gibson. I find his comments regarding Jews abhorant.Do I think he has a problem with Jews? I don't know but I don't want to judge him based on his father's crazy beliefs. Mel has had MANY jews in the entertainment industry come forward and say, "I know this man. This is not who he is." His body guard is an Israli born jewish man. Obviously, it's confusing but he has asked for forgiveness and it is up to God to judge him at this point. If we cannot have mercy for sinners and wrong doers, how can we expect God to have mercy on us?

Damn! I can't watch "What Women Want" anymore. I know actors are just artist and "conduits" for the characters they are asked to play. But I will just never be able to watch and admire Mel's acting ability any more.
